With its 19 hectares of lush vegetation, which is approximately 47 acres, 90% of which is covered by native Atlantic forest, as well as streams and two picturesque lakes, our location harbors an incredible diversity of flora and fauna. Immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature, embark on stunning trails, and discover the birds and wildlife around you. Whether it's for an unforgettable day or a full-board stay, Sítio Espinheiro Negro promises an unmatched experience.

CONSERVATION

Other activities are practiced together with ecotourism aiming the enviroment preservation, such as: collection and disposal for recycable waste, use of compost for storage organic material, solar energy system and biodigesters for sewage treatment. Sítio Espinheiro Negro also maintains a small vivarium of native seedlings for local reforestation. Our doors are always open for development of environmental education work with the local population and also with schools in the region.

Birdwatching

Birdwatching and bird photography tourism is one of the main activities developed on the site. This practice is booming in Brazil and worldwide, placing observers amidst nature to observe a wide variety of bird species. Whether you are an experienced birdwatcher or just a beginner, you will find plenty to see and do here.nature to observe the most varied bird species.

NEAR THE BIRD FEEDERS

Near the headquarters are arrenged feeders to attract lots of colorful species of birds of the Atlantic Forest, such as tanagers, toucans and hummingbirds.

ATLANTIC RAINFOREST TRAILS

The Sítio has some easily accessible trails in the Atlantic Forest to be explored. Along the trails, you can observe a wide variety of fauna and flora species. A cabin in the forest with a blind allows for the observation of some particularly elusive birds.
